Story ARC is excited to introduce its Substack, also named Story ARC, where the company will share its journey to realize its founder’s vision of a more equitable media landscape.
The company’s founder, Andrew Robert Colom, and its anonymous board of media industry veterans, editors, producers, and academics have spent the last 17 months mapping out a plan to accomplish the first phase of its goal: the publication and wide circulation of the company’s first project, EVERYTHING BUT THE FICTION (EBTF).
EBTF will be the introduction of Rap Fiction, the sub-genre devised by the team at Story ARC to join the literary power and popularity of the Black American phenomenon known as rap with the American fiction tradition.
Part of that co-mingling of genres will be the subversion of the use of grassroots efforts in rap to spread popular sounds and artists from smaller markets into larger markets.
The power and importance of grassroots excitement for independent and corporate financed media projects has become undeniable.
The team at Story ARC believes the use of social media - not only as a marketing strategy, but also as an intentional facet of the story - will increase our ability to attract and satisfy our target audiences.
Our first goal is to get a book deal for EBTF. The manuscript is 77% completed and the incomplete parts are being written and edited feverishly at the time of this release.
Our first step in accomplishing that goal has been the publication on this very substack of BEEF: VOLUME I.
Please read, like, and comment on that story!
Our next press release will discuss more about the history behind that joint and how it fits into the overall vision of the book.
Lastly, we wanted to share the inspiration behind the logo for Story ARC.
Our logo was inspired by the story ARK OF BONES by Henry Dumas.
The photo at the top of the press release is of Henry Dumas.
His tragic death was a loss for the Black and American creative community but his resurrection by Toni Morrison and his widening popularity inspire hope for his ongoing relevance and his wider awareness and popularity.
The best way to help Story ARC is to read BEEF - VOLUME I, like the story, share it, share the substack, comment on the story. Tell a friend, share on your social media.
Or don’t and pretend you did if the book ever comes out and you run into Andrew.
